Mizan-Tepi University College of social sciences and humanity undertakes a seminar on contemporary topics: Ethiopia’s Government Initiatives for access to the sea; Ethiopia’s Contemporary Quest for sustainable peace; and sustaining peace through communication/dialogue; the new Ethiopian journey.
Dr. Kifle Haile, dean for College of social sciences and humanity, has remarked the essence of the seminar that all the participants need to take strong part as the topics are more of present.
Dr, Girma Tilahun, V/President for Research and Community Engagement of Mizan-Tepi University, has officially opened the seminar. In his opening speech, he has highly appreciated the seminar for the topics are more provoking issues of the discussion as they are current matters of Ethiopia. He adds, as the direction of ministry of education, Mizan-Tepi university continues to support the college more on such social issues next. In line with this ideas should be forwarded freely and the participants need to react intellectually.
Consequently, the three topics have been presented by the college instructors: Mr. Endale Nigusse, Mr. Melesse Chekol and Mr. Bealu Girmaye respectively; and moderated by Mr. Amare Fantawu Shortly after the presentations, various questions and comments have been forwarded interestingly and warm discussion has been taken place.
Academic staff and students of college social sciences and Humanity and other related work units of Mizan-Tepi University have taken part at the seminar.
