Faculty of Business and Economics (FBE) was established in 2007G.C, holding the Department of Accounting & Finance, Cooperatives, Economics, and Management in intention of contributing a lot in their respective areas of study. In April 2012, as a result of the revised governance system of the university, the college was restructured and named as the College of Business and Economics. In 2021 G.C, the College has opened one more department: the Department of Marketing management and the department has admitted students and commenced its function in its fields since 2021G.C. Thus, the College of Business and Economics runs its teaching activities at degree level in various fields of studies: Accounting & Finance, Cooperatives, Economics, and Management.
The college has made remarkable and multifarious progresses in training, research and service provision by launching need based undergraduate and postgraduate programs and expanding access and equity to higher education to citizens. Currently, about, 3000 undergraduate and post graduate students are enrolled in its regular, weekend and night education programs of Accounting & Finance, Cooperatives, Economics, Management and Marketing Management.
The college is also training more than 600 students in its three postgraduate programs; namely MSc in Accounting and Finance, MSc in Development Economics, Business Administration (MBA) specialized in finance, international business management, project management, supply chain management and MBA in general.
Hence, the college is playing pivotal role in making valuable contribution for the overall development of country in general by producing professionals in the field of business, finance, and economics equipped with problem-solving research skills.
As far as its staffs are concerned, the college has 116 active academic staff and 14 administrative and supportive staffs engaged in different activities.
Furthermore, the college of Business and Economics is rendering services in capacity building to various governmental and non-governmental organizations’ employees through its in-service and short-term trainings, engage in conducting problem solving research apart from the teaching and learning programs.

The college conducts the teaching and learning process in well-equipped classrooms with computers and LCDs. In each classroom, internet facilities are available to support the teaching-learning process. Besides this, all computers in the classrooms are networked with computers in offices so that instructors can easily access their data in the classroom. Students also have access to internet facilities and library services.
