The College of Agriculture & natural resources is the founding entity for Mizan-Tepi University and will continue to represent the founding mission and vision of the university. The College was established in 1999 E.C. holding less than 100 undergraduate students in two departments in undergraduate program in 1999 EC.
The college recognizes that today’s world is volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous and the college also recognizes that it can survive by being flexible, agile, innovative, and responsive. College of agriculture and natural resources cannot simply extrapolate trends – the future is highly uncertain and the college needs to understand and learn to function in such times. Thus, stakeholder’s analysis as well as internal and external environmental scanning is highly imperative to understand the changing environment and it will be our future focus.
Now days the college has Nine Departments and Eight post graduate programs. Currently, the college enrolled nine hundred fourteen students of which seven hundred sixty-seven in under graduate and one hundred forty-five in post graduate programs.
Regarding to the staff profiles our college has a total of one hundred thirty-four academic staffs, two Graduate assistants, ninety-one lecturers, thirteen assistant professors and nine PhD staffs on duty and nineteen staffs on MSc and PhD study leave. In addition, our college has 14 academic supportive staffs.
